‘The Allied Triangle’

Tour Description

Full Day Group Tour of The Canadian, American & British D-Day Sectors

The Advantages of a Group Tour

→ Our small D-Day Group Tour is a great way to discover the landing sites of Normandy alongside like-minded fellow travellers, accompanied by a professional native English-speaker Guide.

→ All of the D-Day sites listed – as well as additional brief stops on our planned route – have been carefully chosen to include the major sites covering all three Allied Sectors. At major sites there is ample freetime to walk around and take photos. Our Canadian clients will be interested to learn that a 1-hr visit to the Juno Beach Visitor Centre is also available on the day (while clients are visiting Arromanches – please speak to your driver-guide). Finally, we never visit all three cemeteries on a single Tour. Typically we will pause briefly for 10 minutes to allow clients tp pay their respects at either Ryes OR Bény-sur-Mer Cemetery (if we have British or Canadian clients on board) but we always visit Colleville American Cemetery (50 mins).

→ You will have your own dedicated guide in a small semi-private group throughout the entire duration of the group tour, who will go out of his / her way to make your day memorable and endeavour to answer your every question.

Travel in style, safely…

Our D-Day Group Tours are conducted in spacious 8-seat vehicles with air-conditioning front and rear, a fridge to keep your water chilled, USB charging points for all of your devices and onboard WiFi. Our Group Tour vehicles are also equipped with the latest in vehicle & passenger security technology to ensure your safety always. Finally, in order to ensure the health & safety of our clients at all times, our Professional Driver Guides have also been First-Aid certified.

D-Day Group Tours – Fixed Start Times

Welcome Aboard

09:00 start

 Public toilets available

Place de Québec & Bayeux Train Station

Place de Québec is situated just around the corner from The Bayeux Tourist Information Office. We pick up here Mon – Fri at 08:50 for a 09:00 departure and drive to Bayeux’s tiny Train Station (5 mins), where we make a short 10-minute pitstop to collect clients arriving on the morning train from Paris. There are toilet facilities both in Place de Québec and at the station, as well as a cafe nearby for passengers who wish a quick coffee prior to departure. The train arrives just next to our parked minibus and Bayeux-based passengers are free to remain on board browsing their courtesy D-Day maps! For passengers already based in Bayeux a 09:30 departure from the station is an alternative. Parking is also available here.

30 minute drive back to Bayeux Train Station

 Public toilets available

Bayeux Station 18:00 /18:15 Plc. de Québec

As we will have clients on board the bus who are Paris-bound on the 18:35 Mon-Fri Bayeux > Paris train (stops in Caen), it is absolutely imperative that we depart our last stop on schedule at 17:30 and so we ask all clients to be mindful of this when regrouping at the end of the final site visit. During our relaxing drive back to the station you will have 30 minutes to reflect on the day’s touring and have a casual chat with your guide. We always appreciate feedback about your D-Day experience and welcome any last-minute questions. Please do not hesitate to let your driver know if we can be of any further assistance. Thank you for choosing NormandyONtour.

*Your Group D-Day tour lasts a total of 8.5 hrs including 45-minutes hour for lunch.

Drop-Off Times: After dropping clients off at Bayeux Train Station, your driver will then return you to Place de Québec at appx 18:15 – in time for an aperitif…
