This is a binding legal document, representing a contract for services entered into by clients’ ticking the ‘I have read and agree to the NormandyONtour T&Cs‘ checkbox on our website reservation system. It exisits between Normandyontour, hereafter referred to as ‘We’ and NormandyONtour customer(s) hereafter referred to as ‘you’ or ‘client(s)’.
With the exception of our short-hop 3-5hr / 350km Local Chauffeur Service and Premium Chauffeur Service – of less than 6 hrs / 550km, ALL of our service bookings are processed solely via the website’s secure booking system. The aforementioned services are only bookable via email, and in high season over the telephone on the dedicated number provided (see Chauffeur Services page). In addition, clients are welcome to telephone our main business number for any last-minute Cultural Visits or D-Day Tour reservations (within 72hrs of intended service departure only – thank you for your understanding). For pre-bookings regards complex itineraries, extended tours, multiple-day services or services not covered on this website kindly use the ‘Contact Us’ button found on our booking system.
At checkout clients may select, pay and book a pre-configured fixed-price Tour, with fixed or flexible departure options – in certain instances manually entering flexible pick-up / drop-off locations; tour start times; selecting preferred language (if not English); stating any special requirements (such as foldable wheelchair, child booster-seat), or describing any family association with D-Day (so that we may carry out extra research or make advance arrangements prior to cemetery visits) OR, in respect to Chauffeur Services : Entering service-window durations; providing flight numbers & travel itinerary information or hotel pick-up requests. All services also offer extras (such as Caen pick-up or Force Majeure Cancellation Insurance etc), whose selection at checkout is the clients’ responsibility.
Alternatively clients may contact us via the booking system with their itinerary and Transport / Tour / Guide requirements so that we may customise their Tour, and provide a quote prior to furnishing them with a secure 24-hr live electronic payment link, either via Stripe or Payal (if you do not have a Paypal account simply choose ‘check out as a guest’). General enquiries are welcome via email and we ask clints to allow up to 72hrs for a response.
However regardless of the payment process itself, services will only be 100% confirmed upon receipt of full payment (or payment of an fixed deposit) for the service in question. Upon receipt of payment we will automatically confirm your reservation by dispatching an electronic invoice via email, sent to your registered email address, complete with your personal information, passenger names, tour details, dates, times, pick-up / drop-off location info and the amount already paid, or still outstanding. You will also receive a unique QR client-identifier code which you must present on your mobile device at check-in for validation purposes. Paper invoices are also accepted (we always advise clients to bring the paper version along too, just in case…).
Please note: Cancellations are detailed in the Cancellation Policy at the foot of this page (click link to go straight there).
NB: You must be of the age of majority (18) in your country in order to request a booking. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times throughout the duration of the tour and must not be left unaccompanied on the bus. When confirming an online reservation we ask the lead passenger to provide information necessary for identification, including: First name, last name, e-mail address and contact mobile telephone number.
Private Tours & Cultural Visits: Advance Bookings are made via the website booking system. If you intend to use our services within 72hrs of departure, bookings can be taken over the phone right up until the time of departure and payment can be processed over the phone using our secure payment facilities, or on the day in cash (€) / by creditcard. Please see the Contact tab above for best times to call. For last-minute next-day bookings (within 24hrs of intended departure) please SMS us anytime or call us after 19:00 on the day prior to intended departure. If possible, kindly check the availability of your chosen date on our website’s booking system prior to calling.
Group Tours (please also refer to NB: Group Tours below ). If you wish to book a tour within 72hrs of your intended departure time enquiries by email/SMS are welcome. Kindly check the availability of your chosen date on our website booking system prior to calling. For last-minute next-day bookings (within 24hrs of intended departure) please call us after 19:00 on the day prior to intended departure. Please note that the minimum number of places bookable on any Group Tour in 2019 is TWO.
Local Chauffeur Services : Local Chauffeur Service enquiries and reservations are taken via email – or over the phone for last-minute reservations (within 72hrs of intended departure) on: +33 (0) 769 227 073 – and depending on your chosen service and duration of trip, payment can either be made securely online or on the day in cash (€) or by creditcard. Payments are processed using our secure AES-256 bit encrypted card-payment facilities. Kindly contact us in the first instance with your requirements.
Premium Chauffeur Services & Motorcycle Chauffeur Services : Enquiries for our Premium Chauffeur Service – and only for service-windows of 6 hours or more – are made via the booking system (for reservations of less than 6 hours see ‘Local’ above). Clients are asked to manually enter their chosen dates & times, transport itinerary and / or tour requirements into the online booking system, noting any special requirements. In cases where clients know their exact itinerary in advance, they may proceed to make a full payment and secure their booking. However, we also offer a flexible payment option, which is suited to complex itineraries. This allows us to verify client itineraries and pick-up/drop-off requests prior to processing payments. In such cases, clients are first invited to make a refundable €1 deposit to pre-book (and secure availability on the chosen date), as well as to validate their chosen payment method. We will contact clients within 24hrs (kindly allow up to 72 in high season) to approve their planned schedule and pre-confirm their reservation. A full or partial payment (with remainder due on the day in cash/by creditcard) is then required to secure the booking. NB : Pick-ups from ALL zones outside of our local Bayeux / Caen Catchment Area, require a minimum service-window booking of 9 hours, to be selected by the client at checkout.
*For Premium-Chauffeur-Service clients wishing to book a minimim 6-hr / 550km service-window (from Bayeux / Caen), or a full day (9-hr / 850km) service-window with a 09:00 – 11:00 flexible pick-up in Bayeux / Caen, bookings can be made directly via the website and designated pick-up locations / departure times specified at checkout. For all Premium Chauffeur reservations of shorter distances / durations, please contact us via email in the first instance with your itinerary and transport requirements.
Services From Paris (Hotels) – See Premium Chauffeur Services ‘From Paris‘ orange booking button : If requesting a 09:00 – 15:00 Paris Hotel pick-up WITHOUT a same-day D-Day Tour, the client must be Normandy-bound (Bayeux / Caen or one of our Outside Zones – we serve Paris, Le Havre, Honfleur, Rouen, Cherbourg, Saint–Malo, Le Mont–Saint–Michel, Le Pays d’Auge & The Loire Valley). Enquiries for the fixed 9-hr Premium Chauffeur Service are made via the online booking system (€1 deposit required to pre-book and secure availability on the chosen date). We will confirm the booking manually prior to sending you a secure payment link via email. NB : The last available pick-up in Paris is at 15:00 (for clients whose destination is Normandy) and the service terminates in Caen / Bayeux / Outside Zone no later than 21:00 (depending on stops enroute, traffic / road conditions). For those clients booking a 9-hr service which begins in Paris between 09:00 and 10:00 – as you have the vehicle for a 9-hr service-window – we would advise you to consider a short sightseeing visit enroute from Paris to Bayeux / Caen (e.g. Honfleur, Giverny, Calvados Tasting, Deauville, Trouville, The Merville Battery, Colleville Cemetery…there are many options and too many variables to list!). Kindly refer to our Cultural Visits & Cruise Ships page (Tours menu) for more info and for some suggestions. (*Our insurances dictate that we cannot however, at any time, assume responsibility for passenger-luggage left on board our vehicles whether ‘supervised’ or not. Luggage left ‘in our charge’ is therefore at the clients’ own risk).
Half-Day D-Day Tours & Cultural Visits from Paris Hotels – See Premium Chauffeur Services ‘Paris Pick-up‘ orange booking button : Enquiries for a 09:00 Paris Hotel pick-up WITH a same-day D-Day Tour or Cultural Visit (Le Mont-Saint-Michel) are welcome via the booking system (€1 deposit required to pre-book, and secure availability on the chosen date). We will confirm the booking manually prior to sending you a secure payment link via email. NB : Only the Paris > Normandy transport fee is payable when booking via the website, with the (reduced) cost half-day D-Day Private Tour (€260 all-in) requested on-the-day in cash / by card. It is the client’s responsibility to add the D-Day Tour optional extra at checkout (failure to do so may result in a cancelled Tour that day – we will however still collect you at your designated time, and transport you from your Paris HOTEL to Bayeux / Caen / Outside Zone). Unfortunately a 09:00 departure from Paris is required if a half-day D-Day Tour or *Cultural Visit is to be included in the day’s itinerary. (*Cultural Visits are included in the cost of our Chauffeur Service since these are ‘shuttle services’ and not Guided Tours. E.g. Le Mont-Saint-Michel from Paris (with drop-off in Normandy) is a 9-hr hire, while a half-day D-Day Tour from Paris (with drop-off in Normandy) is a 9-hr hire + €260 (Guided Tour fee).
Services From Paris (Airports) – See Premium Chauffeur Services ‘Airport Shuttles‘ orange booking button : If booking a shuttle from Paris to Bayeux / Caen / Outside Zone, and your flight is scheduled to arrive in Paris between 09:00 & 15:00 Mon – Sat, you may enquire and pre-book directly via the website reservation system (€1 deposit required to pre-book). In addition to our secure automated booking system, we also prefer to manually confirm airport shuttle reservations and so ask clients, after completing checkout, to email us a quick “Green-Light” confirmation, verifying all pertinent information on the invoice is correct (name, address, passengers, flight itinerary, airport, pick-up time etc (NB : Kindly refer to Paris Pick-ups below). If your flight is scheduled to arrive in Paris after 15:00, or should you wish a Sunday Paris pick-up, kindly contact via email or via the reservation system prior to booking to discuss your requirements.
Important Info: “Green-Light”: A simple email stating your name and booking number (ideally with a copy of your invoice attached to the email). We will double-check your invoice and mark it ‘Green-Light’ before passing it to your driver.
Services to Paris (Airports / Hotels) from Bayeux / Caen – See Premium Chauffeur Services ‘Bayeux/Caen‘ orange booking button : At checkout simply enter your Bayeux / Caen hotel name and pick-up time (09:00 – 15:00) and specify your destination (E.g Paris Airport / Hotel or Loire Valley Hotel etc) and required arrival time. The cost is the same as all Paris > Normandy or Normandy > Paris shuttles, which are billed as a 9-hr Premium Chauffeur Service. As in the above example we also ask you first pre-book (€1 deposit required), and await a confirmation email prior to making full payment of the outstanding balance, and emailing us your “Green-Light” (see above). This in-built redundancy ensures absolute flawless dependability for those critical journeys, where flights are involved in itineraries.
We apologize for any Green-Light inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. (If you require a quote for a shorter journey departing Bayeux / Caen kindly use the ‘Contact Us’ on the Booking System in the first instance).*Please refer to Costing for Paris Airport Pick-Ups below (click link).
Services Outside our Local Bayeux Catchment Area : We welcome general email enquiries & online (€1 deposit) pre-booking enquiries from clients wishing to book a full-day (9-hr) Shuttle, Cultural Visit, Chauffeur Service or Guided D-Day Tour, with a pick up / and drop-off service in one of our Outside Zones, namely : In and around Le Mont Saint-Michel, Central Rouen, Le Havre, St. Malo, Cherbourg, Honfleur, Le Pays d’Auge and The Loire Valley. We will work with you to create your itinerary and custom-create a secure electronic payment link (valid 24hrs), which you will receive via email within 72hrs of finalising your chosen service. (kindly observe your email junk folder just in case). (“Green-Light” required).
Important : In order to accomodate requests for services which lie outside of our local Bayeux catchment area, the Tour itineraries advertised on our website will require modifying, depending on the time spent in transit to & from Bayeux to pick clients up. A typical full-day Private Tour runs 9 hours in length (10-hrs for Airborne), and transit times will vary, so we ask clients to simply contact us via email in the first instance with their tour requirements & pick-up / drop-off locations, so that we may provide an accurate quote. Generally speaking 3 hours in transit, with 1 hour for lunch still leaves approximately 5 hours of sightseeing, which is essentially one of our Half-Day Private Tours, which is also sufficient for Le Mont-Saint-Michel visits, single D-Day sector 4-hr Tours and Cultural Visits from the aforementioned locations. (“Green-Light” required).
For D-Day Motorcycle Tours (riding on your own two wheels) : Enquiries can be made via the online booking system (€1 deposit required) up to 72hrs prior to intended tour departure time. If you wish to enquire within 72hrs of your intended departure time, enquiries by telephone are welcome (See the ‘contact’ tab for best times to call). Full-day Tour payment may be made securely online, once the booking has been confirmed. By pre-arrangement, payment on the day may also be accepted in cash (€) for last-minute bookings, or if the Motorcycle Tour departs central Bayeux. For all Port ‘Meet & Greets’ advanced online payment is required to secure a booking. We regret that we do not offer half-day Guided Motorcycle Tours at this time. Kindly contact us via the booking system in the first instance with your requirements. (“Green-Light” required). Please note : Moto-Tours are for small groups (1-8) and larger groups (9-20) of riders travelling on their own two wheels – we do not provide bike hire at this time. We organize customizable guided tours, led by our own moto-guide, who remains in constant contact with the rider group’s lead-rider via Easy-Rider intercom, provided by us. Short photo presentations and informative Q&As are provided at each D-Day site visited on our route.
*Very Important Info : D-Day Group Tours – ALL D-Day Group Tours in 2019 require a minimum of 4 passengers to run at group rates (€130 p/p). In the unlikely event that we should we have insufficient numbers (3 or fewer passengers), then we will inform you at least 21 days in advance of your intended Tour.
To guarantee every seat booked we will propose the following solutions as a replacement for a full-day Group Tour : –
If at 21 days out you are the sole passengers (3 or less), we will offer you :
A : An upgrade to a FULL-DAY Private Tour (max 8) at reduced rates. The total reduced cost of that day’s FULL-DAY Private Tour will be €480 (less the amount already pre-paid via the booking system for the Group Tour). *The base cost of a FULL-DAY Private Tour is typically €520 + 20 p/p.
E.g : For 3 passengers travelling on a Group Tour at €130 p/p prepaid (€390 total prepaid), then a further €90 will be payable on the day for a full-day Private Tour. Total paid €480.
B : Alternatively we can offer you a Half-Day Tour at standard rates (max 8). The total cost of the HALF-DAY Private Tour will €320 + €10 p/p. (less the amount already pre-paid via the booking system for the Group Tour).
E.g. : For 2 passengers travelling on a Group Tour at €130 p/p prepaid (€260 total prepaid), then a further €80 will be payable on the day for a half-day Private Tour Total paid €340.
Should you choose to cancel your tour at 21 days out, then we will endeavour to provide you a different seat, within our services, on another Tour departing same / different day, or if necessary we will personally recommend a competitor tour company or private guide. We will always do our utmost to secure you a tour elsewhere within our social network of Normandy Guides. In the event that you choose to cancel your Tour we will provide a full refund, regardless of whether you have purchased our Cancellation Insurance or not. We thank you for your understanding.
Prices are stated in euros (€) and are inclusive of French VAT. Indicated prices include the hire of the vehicle (or specified number of seats thereon), driver, accident insurance when in transit for the embarked persons and the diesel for the tour chosen as described on our website. Extra mileage (outwith the specified/agreed tour), lunch and museum entrance fees are not included in the tour price. As an ‘extra’ at checkout, we offer clients our own Cancellation Insurance, which covers refunds for bookings payments in the event of cancellations due to Force Majeure (illness, accidents. resulting in a no-show on the day), or in a late cancellation, within 7 days of tour departure. Please see below for details.
Secure Online Payment: Stripe is used as our primary secure payment gateway for online bookings. Simply complete our online booking form making sure your details are correct (your contact details – please double check your email address – tour dates & times, name of tour/service, number of seats, pick-up location & check-in time, chosen language etc). Please note that as of 2018 there are no longer 3% surcharges on consumer creditcard transactions. All of our Creditcard transactions are processed securely by Stripe (click logo for more info). If you experience any difficulty in completing the checkout process, please get in touch as soon as possible.
Secure Online Payment: Paypal is used as a secondary secure payment gateway for online bookings and no Paypal account is required to make a booking; simply complete our online booking form making sure your details are correct (your contact details – please double check your email address – tour dates & times, name of tour/service, number of seats, pick-up location & check-in time, chosen language etc), and click ‘Pay Now’ and once redirected to Paypal simply select the option ‘Check out as a guest’. If you experience any difficulty in completing the checkout process please get in touch as soon as possible.
For ALL reservations in relation the the following : Our flagship Overlord-Neptune multiple-day D-Day experience Tour; our Chauffeur Services from Ports; arrangements for discreet Paris or any other location pick-ups not listed on our website (such as from private airfields), or for ALL zones outside of our local Bayeux catchment area), kindly contact us via the online booking system (€1 deposit required to validate), so that we may tailor your Tour / Service to suit your requirements prior to confirming your pre-booking. Once we have finalized your requirements, we will then send you a secure payment link via email within 24hrs for booking completion (please allow up to 72hrs). The link will be ‘live’ for 24hrs only (please recontact us should you have missed, or not received it). Once booked, you will receive an email confirmation immediately, which will include your invoice, complete with all of your booking information, a unique client-identifier QR barcode and booking reference number. You will also receive automated reminders as your service date approaches.

The following Tours and Services must be paid for in full (or deposits paid in full where applicable), either via the automated booking system or via secure email payment link AND will require receipt of your “Green-lIght” validation after payment has been made: All Premium Chauffeur and Motorcycle Chauffeur Services departing from Outside Zones (listed above); all bookings for a Paris hotel 09:00 pick-up with / without a same-day half-day D-Day Tour; all Paris Hotel or Airport < > Normandy Shuttles & Transfers, 09:00 – 15:00, Mon – Sat and all Chauffeur Services departing Normandy Ports.
*Reminder : All Chauffeur Services to and from Paris and *Normandy Ports (*except advertised fixed-tariff Port Tours) and all services to/from Outside Zones, always require a min 9hr service-window booking at checkout. When completing checkout it is the clients’ responsibility to select the correct number of hours required, and attach the corresponding extras and if desired, our Cancellation Insurance. You will also find some helpful reminders – and Google Map assistance – on the booking page to guide you through the process.
**At NormandyONtour we use TPE card readers on board our vehicles, which are provided by our French Bank to process payments on-the-go. Our Bank has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry and uses AES-256 BIT encryption to protect your sensitive data.
For insurance purposes we are not able to permit any increases in passenger numbers, nor changes to the names on the passenger manifest, without at least 7-days advance notice. Any passengers attempting to board without a valid ticket (and QR Code) may be refused passage. Should clients need to add passengers to the manifest, we ask that they kindly contact us, as soon as possible, so that we may modify and resend the booking invoice. Please note that any modifications to orders after booking confirmation may be subject to a small administration fee (€20).
Company Mobile Phone
We offer Premium Chauffeur Service clients the use of a french 4G mobile phone for the duration of the hire, so that they may enjoy their freetime sightseeing, reassured by the knowledge that their driver is only a phone-call away. Our phone is Skype-enabled for free calls home, and is equipped with Wi-Fi for connecting your devices to the internet. The phone will be loaned to the client on the basis that it is returned in the same condition as it was received. If clients should lose the phone – or fail to return it – then we will invoice them €280 for a replacement.
Storage for suitcases and large rucksacks is not available on board our Group Tour buses (storage space on Private Tours & Chauffeur Services will depend on the number of passengers & their luggage count). However there is adequate space on ALL services for smaller items such as small back packs, ‘day bags’ or small overnight bags. If you are checking out of your hotel prior to taking your chosen Tour, then kindly ask your hotel to store your luggage until after the tour has finished. We recommend planning in advance so as to avoid any disappoiontments on the day. Private-Tour & Chauffeur-Service clients wishing to leave luggage or valuables on the locked bus during a Tour do so at their own risk.
Individual Seat Pricing
European law dictates that all passengers, regardless of age, are required to have a seat. Therefore, adult pricing applies to all passengers regardless of age. If you are planning on taking a tour along with young children, then please also note that under French law they are required to have a car booster seat, which we can provide (applies to children under 10 yrs OR less than 140 cm tall).
Children are very welcome on board our tours, however please bear in mind that it can be a long day and it might be difficult for younger children (we usually recommend a half-day Private Tour if touring with the kids).
Clients With Reduced Mobility
Although we have limited space on board our vehicles, we feel very strongly about providing adequate support for clients with reduced mobility. As such we have purchased specially-designed folding wheelchairs, which we can carry on board upon request (*maximum of one per tour). Simply let us know at checkout and state any further needs in the special requirements box when completing the checkout process. Furthermore, for clients with mobility issues we strongly advise the flexibility and slower, customizable pace of a full-day Private Tour.
*We apologise but we cannot carry walking frames or mobility scooters on board.
Our Cancellation Policy & Insurance
All cancellations received 60 days PRIOR to the booked tour/service departure (regardless of whether our own Cancellation Insurance has been added at checkout), will receive a 100% no-quibbles automatic refund (100% of the price paid including any Insurance Premium). Note: There will typically be a 3% backcharge deducted from your refunded amount to cover our bank fees.
IMPORTANT – Where our Cancellation Insurance has NOT been purchased: NO refunds will be issued for cancellations received within 60 days of intended tour/service departure. This necessary limitation ensures that all of our tours will run with minimum passenger numbers in High-Season and we thank you for your understanding.
For clients who have purchased our Cancellation Insurance there will be a full refund of any monies paid minus the insurance premium and any small credit card charges we may incur for processing the refund (typically 3%). Refunds will be calculated based on the number of days notice which precede the cancellation (see ‘Refunds’ section below) and will be issued within 28 days of receipt of request. The Cancellation Notice itself must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. All refund request should be sent to email@example.com AND to our admin@ address.
Important: In the event of Force Majeure, sudden ill-health or any other issue resulting in a “No-Show” on the day, proof will be required prior to releasing any monies due. Upon receipt of sufficient proof a refund will be issued within 28 days. In the event that sufficient proof cannot be provided in a timely manner – in the form of a medical letter, or official letter by a transport or travel company – we reserve the right to deduct an hourly administrative fee (€90 p/h) for processing the “No-Show” refund, prior to returning any monies due.
DISCLAIMER: Cancellation Insurance covers ALL booked tours/services for which en email cancellation is received AT LEAST 7 days ahead of booked departure. Our Cancellation Insurance does NOT cover “No-Shows” on the day where clients are unable to provide sufficient proof of Force Majeure having resulted in the tour termination. To recoup lost monies due to failed trains, flights or sudden ill-health on the day we strongly advise clients to take out domestic travel insurance in addition to our Cancellation Insurance.
*Refunds will be processed by the 10th day following the month in question.
Bookings made within 60 days of intended departure are non-refundable. Insurance should not be purchased if booking within 60 days of intended tour departure.
Refunds – Where our Cancellation Insurance has been purchased: We will process refunds based on a percentage calculation relative to the period of advance notice received. The refund will be a percentage (%) of the full price clients have already paid (minus the Insurance Premium itself & a 3% back-charge), calculated as follows:
45 days or more advance cancellation (less than <60 days) = *100% refunded. 30 days or more advance cancellation (less than <45 days) = *80% refunded. 21 days or more advance cancellation (less than <30 days) = *50% refunded. 14 days or more advance cancellation (less than <21 days) = *40% refunded. 7 days or more advance cancellation (less than <14 days) = *30% refunded. Cancellations received under 7 days will be non-refundable except where Force Majeure has resulted in a “No-Show” on the day and where sufficient proof is provided. Such refunds will be processed at 30% of the total price paid.
*Minus chargeback and Insurance Premium.
Example #1 Group Tour: 2 passengers (2 pax). €130 p/p + €5 Cancellation Insurance = €270 (for 2 pax). The following amounts have been calculated without our banks 3% backcharge: At 30 to 44 days out (80%)=€208.00 refunded. At 29 days out (50%)=€130.00 refunded. At 20 days out (40%)=€104.00 refunded. At 8 days out (30%)=€78.00 refunded.
Example #2 Private Tour: 4 pax. €520.00 + €20 p/p + €40 Cancellation Insurance = €640.00 (for 4 pax). The following amounts have been calculated without our banks 3% backcharge: At 30 to 44 days out (80%)=€480.00 refunded. At 29 days out (50%)=€300.00 refunded. At 20 days out (40%)=€240.00 refunded. At 8 days out (30%)=€180.00 refunded.
TRAINS & PLANES
Bayeux Train Station Pick-ups : Check-in for tours is at 09:20 Mon – Fri in BAYEUX for a 09:30 departure for those clients arriving in Bayeux on the Mon-Fri 07:06, Paris St. Lazare > Bayeux rail-service. (Please note that this service stops briefly in Caen just prior to arriving in Bayeux; it arrives in Caen from Paris at 08:58 and departs Caen at appx 09:01). We will always *wait for the train (see below). However despite the extremely reliable French rail-service, unavoidable delays DO sometimes happen and so we recommend you take out your own travel insurance to recoup any monies lost through delayed transport issues.
Caen Train Station Pick-ups : Check-in for tours is at 09:10 Mon – Fri in CAEN for a 09:20 departure for those clients arriving in Caen on the Mon-Fri 07:06, Paris St. Lazare > Caen rail-service. (Please note that after briefly stopping in Caen, this train continues to Bayeux. It arrives in Caen from Paris at 08:58 and departs Caen at appx 09:01). We will always *wait for the train (see below).
*NB Train Station Departures : While our Cancellation Insurance covers Force Majeure events resulting in a “No-Show”, it does not cover excessively late train or flight arrivals. Should your Paris (Caen) > Bayeux train be delayed in excess of 20 minutes (for a Group Tour departure) or 60 minutes (for a Private Tour or Premium Chauffeur Service departure), the bus will depart at the agreed / scheduled Tour time. Where possible – and contingent on clients contacting us as soon as possible – we may be able to secure you a seat on another company’s tour with a later / afternoon departure. In the case of a Group Tour booking you may wish to take a cab from the station and catch up with the tour bus at one of our stops. However these contingencies will be at your own cost. If you are departing Caen (a 15-minute journey by train from Bayeux) to take part in a group or private tour departing Bayeux, please contact us by telephone on + 33 (0)783 810 921 as soon as possible should you experience any transport delays enroute to your Bayeux pick-up point on the day of your tour.
COSTING FOR PARIS AIRPORT PICK-UPS & TRANSFERS : This 9-hr service (max 12) is available 6-days a week (Sundays on request) and is billed as a ‘fixed’ 9-hr Premium Chauffeur Service. The first 3 hours are our ‘in-transit’ costs from Bayeux to Paris. This leaves a 6-hr service-window for your airport pick-up and transport to Normandy. For billing purposes, Paris > Bayeux (with clients on board) is calculated as a 3.5-hr leisurely drive, with 30 minutes being allocated as car park time (initial airport parking – and then a short drive from the airport car park to your pick-up point following our ‘meet & greet’) and a further 30 minutes included for Paris traffic congestion entering & leaving Paris. Thus totalling a total deductible service-window of appx 7.5 hrs . This then leaves 1.5hrs for driver-waiting at the airport.
Clients should be advised that drivers will wait for the additional 10th hour – even if not pre-booked – should the flight still be scheduled to arrive within that extended time. This 10th hour is billed at €130.00, payable upon airport pick-up. However, for flights delayed in excess of 2 hours beyond the end of the 10th hour, our drivers will NOT wait unless contacted by clients (clients’ families). Furthermore any flights delayed beyond the 10th hour (as specified by you at checkout) will incur additional *charges (€180 per additional hour, or 20min per part thereof, which will also be payable prior to departure). We also therefore recommend leaving a 1-hr window between your scheduled flight arrival and your chauffeur pick-up, to allow ample time for customs control and baggage collection. We also strongly advise clients take out comprehensive travel insurance – in addition to our own Cancellation Insurance – to recoup any lost monies due to excessive flight delays.
NB : Please be aware that Paris airport pick-ups are ONLY available for flights arriving between 09:00 and 15:00 and our clients must be Normandy-bound.
**We remind clients : Should your flight be delayed in excess of 2.5hrs (and depending on your scheduled pick-up time), our driver may NO longer be legally able to drive – you will forfeit your transport fee – and you may need to make alternative arrangements upon your arrival in Paris.
Parties’ obligations will not be applicable or will be suspended if their execution should become impossible due to an act of ‘Force Majeure’, such as: An act of public potency, hostilities, terrorist acts, war, natural disaster, fire, strike, criminal acts.
Parties must use all efforts to prevent or reduce the effects of a non-performance of the contract caused by an event of force majeure; the party seeking to invoke an event of force majeure must notify the other party without delay at the beginning and end of this event. Without such notice, the party will not be relieved of his or her contractual obligations.
Also, cancellations may be imposed by circumstances of the greatest importance, such as sudden physical or mental disability (providing medical evidence is received) and/or incidents linked to the customer’s safety, and/or events resulting in the command of an enforcing authority and/or the French Prefecture. In adverse weather conditions (snow or black ice),the French Préfecture may decide to suspend certain school or regular bus services. In that case, we will also be required to suspend our tours. We reserve the right to cancel totally or partially the service booked and/or to modify planned dates/times/itineraries if the customer’s safety cannot be ensured. The customer cannot claim any refund or compensation in this instance. You will be fully informed as to the reasons and if alternatives can be offered.
We cannot accept responsibility for any damage caused to passengers’ personal belongings by third parties or for reasons beyond our control. We cannot be held responsible for the loss of valuables, luggage or other objects left in the locked bus during tours. You must keep all valuable belongings on your person at all times. We cannot be held responsible for any events that by their occurence prevent the customer from reaching, at the expected time, the start point of the contracted tour, or for any additional costs that will be applicable to the customer for him/her to reach the starting point of the pre-booked tour/service on time.
We hold an international Owner Operator’s Licence allowing us to operate a transport service anywhere in Europe and we also hold a Chauffeur VTC transport license. You will find our company registration numbers posted on our website: www.normandyontour.com (see footer). We provide client transportation in luxury 8 seat vehicles that can transport up to 8 passengers and which are ideal for private tours, small groups and chauffeur services. In order to preserve the quality of the interiors we respectfully requested that passengers refrain from drinking, eating or smoking in the vehicle. Pets are not allowed onboard the vehicle at any time.
Our licenses have been delivered in accordance with transport laws as laid down by the French government and these allow us to operate both 8 and 16 seat vehicles offering transport services to both closed groups (private tours) and members of the general public (group tours) and the governing body ensures we have the appropriate insurance for the vehicle, the driver and the passengers.
Insurance for the vehicle and its driver / Civil Liability insurance and Unlimited insurance for the embarked persons
Apart from the above-mentioned insurance, no other insurance is included in the prices we offer. As a consequence, when you book your trip, we strongly suggest that you take out a travel insurance policy against the following eventualities: cancellation, loss of luggage, damage to personal belongings, legal aid, accidental bodily injury (when not on board the vehicle) and repatriation.
Any claim should be made as soon as possible and confirmed by registered letter sent to our *business address within 28 days from the end of the tour (you will find our business address in the footer section of our website).
These general terms and conditions as well as the contract made by ordering a tour online are governed exclusively by French law. Any dispute concerning the application of these terms of sale shall be the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the department of Calvados, in which we are situated.
Nevertheless, it will always be in both parties interests to try and reach an amicable resolution of any difficulties or of any disputes arising from the interpretation, execution, or termination of the parties’ contract prior to commencing any legal action.
