Le Mont St. Michel – Summer

*If viewing on tablet / mobile phone, please scroll further down the page to compare an overview of each Tour on our ‘Accordian’ – click the orange + to open each segment.

Welcome to Our Useful Info Accordian: Cultural Visits - An Introduction

*For Paris-based clients wishing to book a Cultural Shuttle please refer to our Chauffeur Services page.

This section contains a summary of each of our Cultural Shuttles to famous local Normandy tourist attractions. It also contains an overview of our Flagship Overlord-Neptune multiple-day Cultural & D-Day experience. (including Paris or ‘*Outside Zones’ [*see homepage] pick-up/drop-off options.

*If you are travelling to Normandy for the day by train or car, then we recommend a morning pick-up followed by a 1/2 day D-Day Tour of your chosen D-Day Sector with lunch in Bayeux, followed by 2 hrs spent sightseeing in the old medieval Town of Bayeux (or historic Honfleur), accompanied by your guide.

Whilst perusing our optional ‘extras’ on the Cultural Visits page you’ll see there are many options: From orchard visits with Calvados & Cheese Tasting, to speedboat rides at Etretat, Moto-Guide Tours (for single pllion passengers onboard our luxury cruiser or for large groups of multiple bikers [1 to 8 or 9 to 20] riding on their own two wheels) and even a heli-tour, on our Flagship tour.

In any event it would be such a shame to visit the region and miss the stunning Bayeux Cathedral, the renowned Tapestry and never to have strolled along its historical Normand streets, steeped in Caramels, Cheese & Calvados…and completely unscathed by World Wars! It’d be like visiting Egypt and not seeing the pyramids…

Please don’t hesitate to contact us via the ‘Get In Touch’ below or via email if you need help in any way with your booking. We endeavour to respond to all emails within 24 hrs (please allow ip to 72 hrs in high season).

Thank you

Departs: Central Bayeux – Place de Québec:  09:25 (check-in at 09:15 – 09:20).

Departs: Bayeux Train Station: *09:35 [Mon – Fri]. Train arrives in Bayeux at 09:16 and we’ll be outside for check-in at 09:30, directly outside in front of the station in the parking bays. Please wait for us – many companies pick up there. We’ll have our logo in the windscreen. *NB: On this tour the latest station departure is 09:45.

NB: This is the only service which we operate where we must depart the station by 09:45 at the latest (whereas usually on tours we always wait on the train). Your train is due at 09:16, so from 09:16 to 09:45 is a 29-minute buffer, sufficient to cover delayed trains. If your train is in on time please check-in with our guide at 09:30 for immediate departure.

Important Info: Planning ahead for excessively delayed trains: Our 1st stop is Colleville American Cemetery. We will be there from 10:30 to 11:30 and will regroup outside the Visitor Centre at 11:30 for an 11:35 departure, heading to the Mont (picking up Overlord Museum visitors enroute).

What do I do IF my train is excessively delayed:

Directly outside the train station, at the taxi stand, there is a placard with 3 local taxi numbers – in the rare event your train is excessively delayed (beyond 09:45), we recommend you first seek out and talk to other NormandyONtour clients, who may be in the same predicament, and are willing to take a collective cab (30 mins=€40) to the cemetery, where you can meet us at 11:30 at the visitor centre.

*Note: French trains are very reliable and excessive delays are rare.

NB: Clients travelling from Paris on the 07:06 train out of St. Lazare will require a ‘modifiable’ ticket – if we are delayed for any reason at the Mont, they may not make the 18:35 scheduled return train but instead can expect to return on the Bayeux (20:09) to Paris train (arrival 22.26).

See the Helpful Info menu above for train info, maps, pick-up locations & more…
