Welcome to our Useful Info Accordian: Group Tours - Introduction

This section contains a summary of each of our D-Day Group Tours which operate Mon-Fri, departing Place de Québec (central Bayeux) and Bayeux Train Station, which are perfect as daytrips from Paris or Caen. In addition to the list of sites visited on our D-Day Group Tours, we have also included in this section details of our Half-Hay 4hr Mix & Match Private Tours, which are ideal for the casual daytripper to Bayeux.

Among our 2019 D-Day Group Tours you will not only find an easy-paced fixed D-Day Group Tour, The Longest Day, which encompasses the principal sites in The American D-Day Sector, but also a popular composite Group Tour of The Three Allied Sectors – The Allied Triangle (selection of American, Canadian & British D-Day sites), which has been specifically designed around the 2019, 75th Anniversary.

Which Cemeteries will we visit ?

Cemeteries on our route

On The Longest Day we always visit Colleville American Cemetery (50 mins).

On The Allied Triangle Tour & brief stop can also be made enroute at The Bény-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery or Ryes Commonwealth Cemetery to allow clients to pay their respects. We never visit the three cemeteries in a day and the short 15min pause is allocated as freetime (see below).

Unlike the vast Colleville Cemetery, these small cemeteries are directly accessible from the roadside. Therefore as soon as we park and exit the vehicle we’re already ‘in’ the cemetery grounds. Although 15 mins may seem short, it is still sufficient time for strolling around the cemetery grounds, paying respects and signing the visitor’s book.

Note: There will be no guide ‘presentations’ at these smaller cemeteries, and clients wishing more time on-site, with a formal brief presentation, are encouraged to consider one of our Half-Day Private Tours.

Options available on 'The Allied Triangle' Group Tour

This tour has been specifically designed with in-built flexibility, providing individual clients the oppportunity to spend 1 hour inside the Juno Beach Visitor Centre as an alternative to a 1-hr Arromanches visit. Upon request we can drop clients first at Juno, before continuing on to Arromanches (15 minutes further on) for our scheduled stop, where our main group will alight. Both locations are 1hr ‘freetime/lunch’ stops. We will return to Juno and pick clients up before meeting back up with the main group an hour later.

Similarly during freetime at Arromanches clients can opt to visit the 360 Circular Cinema (30 mins) or the Mulberry Harbour Visitor Centre (40 mins), grabbing lunch-on-the-go, or may instead simply opt to take some ‘time-out’ for a 1-hr sit-down lunch overlooking the stunning Gold Beach Mulberry Harbour.

Half Day Private Tours: 4hrs

Half-Day: Private Tours [Mon – Fri]

*Suitable as a daytrip from Paris / Caen (Mon – Fri)

Our relatively short 4-hr Half-Day Private Tours are designed to be easier-going on the legs than full-day tours and as such are ideal for families with young children, for the elderly, or for clients who would simply find a full-day Tour exhausting!

We still thoroughly recommend choosing TWO of our Half-Day Tours as a full-day Mix & Match Tour, particularly for those clients who wish to take part in an immersive touring experience, one that will stay etched in their minds for years to come. Bear in mind too that YOU decide the pace on all of our tours…and we will go out of our way to make sure you never feel rushed regardless of your chosen tour.

Please also notice that three of our Half-Day Tours are offered only on a Mix & Match basis; they have been designed as flexible options in a full-day Mix & Match tour (See the Half-Day Private Tours page for more info).
